In the case of an emergency, phone SBSA Insurance Services at 0860 123 445. Give them the above information. If it is a insurable event, they will send someone out to assess and isolate the problem, i.e. disconnect power, close water to geyser, etc. in so that no further damage occurs.
Then phone Hereford during office hours to arrange a replacement. The following excess and limits apply:

Geyser Replacement Excess: R1 500 (The plumber MUST supply you with a Certificate of Compliance)
Geyser Maintenance / Repair Excess: R250
Geyser Replacement Limits: R50 000
Geyser Maintenance / Repair limit: R2 000
Geyser Maintenance / Repair Included (To clarify excess with SBSA):
This extension is automatically included unless specifically excluded and
provides a maximum sum insured of R1 000 per geyser per any single period of insurance in respect of loss of or damage to geyser thermostats, elements, vacuum breakers or valves. This extension provides cover for these four (4) components only and no other loss/damage.
The owner can go ahead and replace the geyser and pay the contractor directly. Send email together with the geyser / damage invoices to Hereford at claims@herefordrisk.co.za. They will pay out the claim into the specified account MINUS the excess for the geyser (and resultant damage excess, if applicable), subject to maximum limits above.
